SPYSCAPE is an immersive experiential museum for kids (of all ages) located in Midtown Manhattan. The new BATMAN X SPYSCAPE exhibition provides an interactive experience to immerse visitors in DC’s Batman. Visitors to the exhibition are engaged with a mission-focused adventure to melds a media-driven physical experience with a real-time app that reacts with near field communication technology. The exhibit emphasizes light, sound, and vide media to create a unique experience, far beyond a typical interactive museum installation.
LSTN worked with exhibit designer, Mona Kim Projects, and SPYSCAPE’s in-house technologists to develop the acoustic and electroacoustic design for the project. The temporary exhibit space was designed by David Adjaye Associates. Our acoustics scope overlaid and modified that architectural design with exhibit fabrications that improved the sound isolation between exhibit spaces (maintaining the linear narrative story to avoid spoiling the surprise)! We designed the sound systems to combine narrative foreground storytelling elements within an exhibition-wide spatial audio sound scape (composed by sound designer Ferdi Gratz).
